The Odisha government has launched Odisha Balaram Yojana to provide rural credit of Rs 1,040 crore to landless farmers who are currently unemployed due to the coronavirus outbreak. About seven lakh landless farmers will benefit from the scheme in the next two years. Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy has instructed officials to provide agricultural loans to the landless farmers through joint liability groups (JLGs). IMAGE will coordinate the implementation of the scheme at the state level. The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) will coordinate at the regional level.
